The Sleeper
Comic Short Story Competition
This is a short story competition with a twist. We have had graphic artist Chris Greybe create a character, and we have given this character a limited back story to maintain cohesion. We are now asking people to create stories around this character.
|
Comic short stories and the graphic novel have fascinated, entertained and educated us throughout our history. From the earliest cave man drawings to the latest graphic novels, the image has been used as an integral part of many a good story. |

Although graphic stories have never really disappeared from our reading choices they are fast gaining new ground in the 21st century. Even Shakespeare has been rendered as a graphic novel. To celebrate this marriage of story and art we are running a competition with an unusual concept. |
From the winning entries we hope to build up a collection of stories which will be transformed in to graphic stories and published and distributed for free in the UK. The competition will be judged by a panel of our resident authors. |

Update
This competition has now closed. Unfortunately we have not had sufficient entries to be able to run the competition although we have had some excellent submissions. For this reason Chris Greybe would still like to look at the possibility of producing some graphic stories from the best of the entries we have had. We will contact those people in the near future for their approval to use their stories.
We would like to thank everyone who entered for their interest and participation and will try running something similar later this year - hopefully with better results.
Anyone who has entered and paid an entrance fee will have their money refunded. Should you have any problems or further queries please let us know.
